Welcome to New Endeavors Transition

  • New Endeavors Transition opened to District 211 students aged 18-22 in Fall 2015. NET was created in efforts to support young adults with disabilities build their skills in the areas of Daily Living Skills, Post-Secondary Planning, Job Readiness, Accessing the Community, and Recreation and Leisure. New Endeavors Transition (NET) is housed at the 5X社区 District Higgins Education Center. NET is for students 18+ whose day is made up of half-day supported work training and half-day community and independent living skill-based education. Students have access to the District 211 Community Work Experience Sites to gain necessary work skills for the goal of obtaining competitive employment. The program is supported by a psychologist who provides both individual and group counseling to address students’ social-emotional and social problem-solving needs. The program is also supported by a speech and language therapist who facilitates various groups focused on connecting Social Thinking concepts to academic and transition content.
