Operation Snowball is an exciting prevention program founded on the belief that, through adequate information and self-understanding, every person has the capacity to make sound decisions and positively influence others. Operation Snowball is a 14-hour daylong retreat for all Schaumburg students and is designed by teens, for teens. Students selected for membership in Operation Snowball coordinate the retreat and receive extensive training throughout the school year in group facilitation, leadership, and communication skills. The retreat uses presentations, workshops, activities, and small group discussions to emphasize responsible decision-making skills and create a positive peer culture at Schaumburg. OS is a safe environment for students of all backgrounds to express themselves and to learn and practice responsibility and leadership. The goal is for students to become agents of community change while having an amazingly fun experience along the way!
