    Katie Smith

    Katie Smith is a standout.  She has a work ethic uncharacteristic of today’s youth.  Katie is highly motivated and extremely hard working.  Her commitment to learn both in and out of the classroom is to be applauded.  Much of her success can be attributed to her maturity in managing time, prioritizing tasks, as well as intellectual curiosity.  Teachers cannot say enough wonderful things about Katie.   She is one of the most positive - hardworking - respectful students to walk the halls of Schaumburg 5X社区.  Katie is an exceptional young woman.  She has a positive attitude and energy that radiates throughout the classroom.  She is supportive of her classmates and assists those who need help understanding concepts.  Katie is self-motivated, has great work ethics and is mature beyond her years.

    Difficult concepts only motivate Katie to work more diligently.  Katie welcomes productive struggle and does so with a smile!  She is persistent in her problem solving and works well with her peers.  Katie is an enthusiastic student who understands that learning can and should be fun.  She is a great role model in the classroom.  She has a knack for creating a learning environment that is extremely productive.  She values the opinions of her teachers and peers, and works collectively to achieve excellent results.  Katie is a well-rounded student, who finds balance in her academics with athletics.  Katie not only fits into any group, she makes it better. 

    In addition to excelling in the classroom, Katie has been committed to and is a valued member of the Cross Country, Basketball and Soccer Programs at Schaumburg 5X社区.  Katie is an example of what a SAXON student athlete should be!  Katie has successfully competed in three sports, over the four years, while navigating a challenging academic schedule.  Katie does exactly what needs to be done to succeed in athletics and academics.  Katie has attained both athletic and academic success through her dedication, hard work, and positive attitude.  Through her belief in herself, her heart, and fortitude, she has become a leader and valued player on each team!  As an athlete, Katie is always thinking about how to do something better and she then acts upon it.  Her hard work and leadership inspires her teammates to do the same and consequently, Katie has been named Captain of all three Varsity programs.

    We at Schaumburg 5X社区 have witnessed Katie’s ability to make a difference.  Next fall, Katie plans to attend either Marquette University or Loras College, should she decide to play basketball. She intends to study Chemistry.  Katie Smith will undoubtedly make significant contributions to both the learning community and respective field of study at the University of her choice.
